Appointments with your doctor can be made by:
Calling during our opening hours or booking an online appointment here.
Your doctor’s standard appointment time is 15 minutes. This allows more time for your doctor to address your concerns and provide you with thorough care. Please note, not all issues may be able to be fully addressed in one appointment and review appointments may be needed. Please make a separate appointment for each person that requires a consultation with your doctor, even if you are seeing at the same time. Your doctor will endeavour to prioritise urgent consultations.
Important notes on appointments with your doctor:
Your doctor understands that you may at times need to cancel or reschedule an appointment. If you need to do so, we kindly request you give us sufficient notice before your appointment time, so that we can inform your doctor and they can offer this appointment to their other patients.
Cancellation of standard appointments
Your doctor requires a minimum of 2 hours’ notice for all standard appointments when cancelling or rescheduling an appointment. Failure to give notice within this time frame may result in a ‘did not attend’ and may incur a $40.00 fee at your doctor’s discretion.
Cancellation of procedures
Your doctor requires a minimum of 24 hours’ notice for all procedures when cancelling or rescheduling an appointment. Failure to give notice within this time frame may result in a ‘did not attend’ and your deposit may be forfeited at your doctor’s discretion.
If you have any cold/flu/respiratory symptoms you will be required to reschedule your procedure, and failure to do this within an appropriate time frame may result in a forfeit of your deposit at your discretion.
Our practice’s policy for managing patient health information
For your doctor to provide quality health care to you requires a relationship of trust and confidentiality between us, your doctor and you. A copy of our privacy policy is available at reception on request or online by clicking here.
Patient Health Information
Patient health information is important data and the information is stored electronically in our clinic computer system securely including a regular back-up everyday with an off-site back up option.
Our practice’s communication policy
Should you have a query for your doctor you may phone the clinic and leave a message with reception, who will relay the message to your doctor. The doctor will call you back or advise if it is more appropriate for you to make an appointment to discuss your enquires further.
Patients may communicate with the practice via email and it will be responded as mentioned above.
Our practice may send SMS reminders on your doctor’s behalf about your upcoming appointments, recalls for abnormal results or follow-up appointments.
Results
Results of investigations that your doctor has requested generally require review appointments. All abnormal results will require an appointment with your doctor for further discussion. Please discuss with your doctor during the consultation how your results will be given.
Home visits
Home visits may be requested if you are a regular patient of your doctor. The request will be considered and maybe declined or obliged at your doctor’s discretion. It may not be possible to provide home visits on the same day and it can be arranged as per the schedule of your GP. Fees are at the doctor’s discretion depending on the time of visit, distance to travel, complexity and duration of the visit.
Our preference is for you to make an appointment with your doctor at a time convenient to you, however walk-in patients (those without an appointment) are welcome by the doctors we support. If you arrive without an appointment, you will be triaged and seen by a doctor we support.
Feedback is always welcome. We strive to provide caring, friendly environment, and it is important to us that we continually improve the way we support your doctor. If you have any feedback, please call our clinic to speak to our practice manager.
If you are unhappy about a health service provided to you or a family member by your doctor, please contact us to speak to our practice manager as a matter of priority.
Every household should establish a strong rapport with a family doctor. However, there might be situations where you require immediate medical attention, but your General Practitioner (GP) is unavailable.
